Difficult feelings such as those of distress, anxiousness or depression are often symptoms of a story that hasn't been fully understood or properly heard. My aim is to provide a supportive, confidential environment in order for us to begin to explore your story in a collaborative way.
I have a PGDip in psychotherapeutic counselling, and an MSc in psychodynamic psychotherapy. As well as working to understand how experiences earlier in our lives may still be influencing the way we behave today, a relational approach to psychotherapy means that we'd also be thinking about what may surface in the relationship between us during the work.
I regularly undertake further training and keep myself informed of updates to UKCP and BACP ethical guidelines as part of my commitment to continuing professional development.
Our first few sessions would be an opportunity for you to get a feel for the way in which we might work together - with no pressure to look further ahead than this. During the first meeting it can be helpful for us to discuss any hopes or expectations you might have for therapy.
If we subsequently decide to continue working together then we'll set up a regular time each week for further meetings.
If you have any questions prior to booking a session - please feel free to use the form below or leave a message on 07404 868939 and let me know when it's a good time to return your call.
